A top-tier American Investment Bank is looking to hire a Vice President to their Valuations and Analytics group covering Securitized Products. The Valuations and Analytics group supports business lines across the organization, including the Corporate & Investment Bank (Macro Products, Credit, Sec Prod., Equities), Chief Investment Office, Treasury, Asset Management, and Commercial Banking. Additionally, this group works closely with the Traders, CFOs, Market Risk and Operations, so this team offers broad exposure across the bank.
The bank is currently looking for a Subject Matter Expert for MBS, ABS, RMBS, and CMBS, and is open to considering candidates coming from Valuations, Product Control, Market Risk, or consulting. The team is hiring significantly across the Analyst/Associate levels, so the Head of the group is looking to hire a partner to help guide the direction of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an SME in product knowledge for MBS and loans trading
- Execute price verification/benchmark process including the calculation of fair value adjustments
- Verify trader valuations for MBS, ABS, CMBS, RMBS and loans
- Actively monitor valuation/pricing risk of securitized products portfolio; understand the liquidity of the market and pricing dynamics
- Partner with Global Valuations, Front Office, Market Technology, and Market Risk to enhance pricing verification methods
- Enhance existing control framework including reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments, and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency
- Research, develop, and implement existing and emerging market data sources into pricing verification processes with a focus on fair value and understanding valuation uncertainty
- Mentor and guide junior members of the team
- Act as a senior-point person for senior management and business heads for cross-functional mandates
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree at a minimum - Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.
- Expert knowledge of securitized products, including MBS, ABS, CMBS, and RMBS
- Experience with financial valuations theory, methodologies, etc.
