Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee underwriting functions, including reviewing referrals, conducting post-bind evaluations, handling endorsement requests, managing rewrites, and processing cancellations.
- Maintain high standards of underwriting quality and profitability through detailed risk analysis aligned with organizational guidelines.
- Foster a results-oriented culture that promotes business growth and delivers exceptional customer experiences.
- Assist with additional customer service duties such as resolving billing issues, addressing inquiries, supporting various processes, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to a constantly evolving environment, including updates in technology, guidelines, compliance, and business strategies.
- Conduct premium audits and manage written communication with clients.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Significant experience in underwriting for commercial property or casualty sectors, with a focus on small commercial lines such as General Liability, Property, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Auto.
- Proactive with a strong ability to multitask and improve customer experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the capability to handle ambiguity and escalate issues when necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both colleagues and clients.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies quickly.
- Competent in working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 2 years of underwriting experience.
