Job Title: Senior Underwriter - Professional Liability
Location: Hybrid (Los Angeles or San Francisco Office)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter specializing in Professional Liability to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from either our Los Angeles or San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting professional liability insurance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite professional liability insurance applications, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Analyze risk factors and determine appropriate coverage terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and support staff.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of professional liability accounts, ensuring profitability and growth.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
- Collaborate with the claims department to review and manage claims related to professional liability policies.
- Prepare and present underwriting reports and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting professional liability insurance.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, RPLU, or similar are preferred.
