My client is a growing investment management firm with ~350b in AUM. Located in a beautiful office space in Denver, the company has over 350 investment professionals worldwide across 25 offices. With 2,000 employees globally, the company is growing out their risk and compliance team in Denver and are looking to bring on a new senior risk manager. They are primarily equities driven offering a wide range of equity strategies encompassing different geographic focus's and investment styles. They also dabble in the fixed income space with ~66b AUM, offering a wide range of strategies across investment grade, high yield, MBS, ABS, across different geographies. Their solutions group covers multi-asset investment with ~45b AUM, offering broad exposure for different investment needs.
The Senior Risk analyst role sits within the firms financial risk and compliance team, a very lean group offering high visibility up to the global head of financial risk who runs the team. The role offers broad exposure across asset classes as you will be covering all of financial risk. This is not a highly quantitative role, you will primarily be responsible for:
- Attending risk meetings with PMs across the firm
- Spearheading a comprehensive risk oversight program encompassing market, liquidity, and ESG risks.
- Producing regular and ad hoc risk reports and analyses to support governance committees and fund boards.
- Monitoring risk limits, performing risk assessments, and contributing to risk-related decision-making.
- Enhancing Financial Risk processes and presenting analyses in risk meetings.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to optimize risk management tools and systems.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships across various teams within the organization
- Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements include:
- Strong analytic skills and a deep understanding of risk measures and methodologies, including market, liquidity, and ESG risks.
- Familiarity with risk models like MSCI RiskMetrics.
- Proficiency in handling large data sets, producing metrics for analysis, and effectively communicating results.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with excellent MS Office skills
