I am currently working with a FinTech looking for someone to come in and help build out the merchant risk analytics function. You will be responsible for conducting analytics, developing risk strategies, and building risk models. Candidates should have 5+ experience in credit risk focused on retail/merchant/small business lending along with proficiency in SQL/Python. This is an individual contributor role with the eventual opportunity to build out and manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Build out a world class practice risk function at scale with a focus on automated practice monitoring
- Expand upon existing merchant risk triggers and eliminate existing triggers that are not of value
- Build a consolidated active risk model to drive more precise predictions and limit the number of practices flagged for intervention
- Analyze our existing practice underwriting guidelines to determine which rules are valuable risk predictors and which are not
- Assist upon the build out of a practice underwriting risk scorecard, and eventually construct a merchant underwriting model
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a credit risk analytics (preferably retail/merchant/small business lending experience within a fintech)
- SQL is a must, Python and NoSQL preferred
- Substantial hands-on experience performing in depth hypothesis-driven analyses utilizing self-pulled data points directly from structured and unstructured databases and a desire to continue to be hands on
- Self-starter with the ability to take general problem statements and build and execute upon a structured analytical plan to drive results
- Ability to manage multiple contemporaneous workstreams
