Role: Compliance Officer & MLRO (SMF16 & SMF17)

We are currently representing an Investment Consultancy Firm. The firm was established to provide Portfolio Analytics, Fiduciary Management and Consulting Services to a single family office in Saudi Arabia. Our client currently holds an Appointed Representative role. However, the company is applying for Part 4A Permission and as part of that application, and are seeking a candidate with asset management experience primarily to assist with the application and act as compliance officer (SMF16) and MLRO (SMF17). Depending on your experience, you will also be asked to assist the In-House Lawyer with ad hoc matters.
The Candidate
* Have an enquiring mind to identify risks in processes and propose mitigations
* Previous registration as an SMF16/17 would be helpful, although not essential
* Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
* Ability to build relationships with colleagues
* Excellent planning and organisational abilities to ensure the prompt delivery of services
* Previous experience working in a Family Office is desirable
* Excellent knowledge of Office 365 programs
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
The Role
* Supervision of compliance monitoring
* Client identification and categorisation
* Personnel familiarity with compliance procedures
* Compliance training for staff
* Compliance systems, procedures, policies and controls
* Staff competence assessments and reviews
* Changes in regulatory requirements
* Maintenance of compliance documentation and records
* Liaising with our regulatory consultants on a regular basis
* Ensuring all staff, including directors and members of staff, receive appropriate Anti-Money Laundering training
* Presenting the annual MLRO report to the board
* Reporting to the board on the operation and effectiveness of the AML systems and controls
* Receipt of suspicious activity report and reporting to the authorities as appropriate
* Testing the effectiveness of the AML systems and controls
* Conducting customer due diligence
