A leading global energy trading firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trade Control Analyst to join their team in London. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of physical and financial energy transactions across various commodities, including Gas, Power, Emissions, and LNG. The Trade Control Analyst will be responsible for the daily validation of transactions, monitoring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting end-of-day processes for Position and PNL reporting. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with different teams to enhance operational efficiency and drive automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate daily physical and financial energy transactions (Gas, Power, Emissions, LNG).
- Ensure timely validation of relevant market data information.
- Support end-of-day processes in ETRM systems.
- Monitor unauthorized trades and trader mandates/limits.
- Conduct month-end and quarter-end checks for transactions.
- Drive automation efforts and support digitalization processes.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, REMIT, MiFID II).
- Act as a backup for other trade control team members.
Candidate Specifications:
- University degree in a numeracy-oriented discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Risk Management).
- Experience in Product Control/Market Risk/Middle Office/Risk management in a commodity trading company.
- Advanced knowledge of risk metrics and internal control systems.
- Proficiency in IT systems and programming languages (Excel, VBA, Power BI, SQL, Openlink Endur, Python).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented, with experience in an international team environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
